Belonging and Belief with Rev. Dr. Sue Pizor Yoder

Join us for a conversation with Rev. Dr. Sue Pizor Yoder who leads Blank Slate, an emerging spiritual community in the Lehigh Valley, PA. Sue co-authored the book "Hear Us Out: Six Questions on Belonging and Belief" where they interviewed over 200 people under 40 in search of the lessons they might teach us about belonging, adversity, legacy - and faith. Sue explains the idea of "nones" — people who have no religious affiliation and "dones" people who once practiced religion but no longer do. Sue and her colleagues were surprised to find their conversation partners also wanted to talk about faith--even when they didn't identify with any religious tradition. The narratives these authors uncover offer both critique and blessing for society and the church. Join us as we explore the idea that while an increasing number of young people don't consider themselves religious, they may still consider themselves spiritual. #nones #dones #nonesanddones
